Cowealthy Secures $400K Investment Led by APY Ventures

Cowealthy, an AgriTech startup, has raised a $400,000 seed investment in a round led by the Bilişim Vadisi Venture Capital Fund (BV GSYF), managed by Albaraka Portfolio Management.

In addition to BV GSYF, angel investors also participated in the round. It is worth noting that the fund was established by Albaraka Türk, Vakıf Katılım, and Bilişim Vadisi, and is managed by Albaraka Portfolio Management.

With this new investment, Cowealthy plans to enhance its products and expand into new markets, particularly in the U.S. and Europe.

Founded in December 2020 by Melih Ertürk, Volkan Uslu, Mevlüt Altunterim, Bener Karadeniz, Yücel Saykal, and İsmail Bican, Cowealthy develops IoT and AI-powered livestock technologies aimed at building a more sustainable world. The company has already reached dozens of countries with its high value-added electronic products.

At its core, Cowealthy provides herd management solutions that collect data such as movement and body temperature of cattle. This data is processed using AI algorithms to generate actionable insights, helping farmers improve efficiency and decision-making. These solutions fall under the scope of precision agriculture and represent one of the few integrated hardware-software offerings globally.

As herd sizes grow, managing livestock operations becomes increasingly complex without such technologies. Cowealthy’s system enables farms to increase productivity, improve animal welfare, and optimize resource usage.

Founder İsmail Bican emphasized that their mission is to improve livestock welfare while increasing production efficiency, noting that higher animal comfort leads directly to higher output. He also highlighted that their solution typically pays for itself within 6 to 12 months, while delivering long-term value over its lifecycle.

Additionally, the company contributes to reducing carbon footprints in livestock farming by improving efficiency, thereby helping mitigate the environmental impact of methane emissions.

Overall, Cowealthy aims to become a global player in advanced livestock technologies, positioning itself at the intersection of sustainability, agriculture, and deep tech.
