TatildeKirala raises investment at a 250 million TL valuation led by Re-Pie Portföy
TatildeKirala.com, which successfully leveraged the growing demand in the short-term villa rental market driven by the pandemic—along with its globally standardized technology and portfolio size that brought sector leadership—has crowned its investment journey, which began in 2018 with a valuation of 4 million TL, by reaching a company valuation of 250 million TL within 4 years.
Founded in 2018 by Ruşen Mat, and having received two investments from Sintek Group during and after its establishment phase, TatildeKirala.com operates as a marketplace enabling the short-term rental of more than 6,000 villas and over 400 yachts across 90 different districts in Turkey. In the investment round led by Re-Pie Portföy, the company received investment at a pre-money valuation of 250 million TL from APY Ventures and Mehmet Fatih Trabzon.
Evaluating the investment process, TatildeKirala.com Founder and CEO Ruşen Mat stated that despite being only 4 years old, the company maintained high growth rates across all key metrics in 2022 compared to the previous year. He emphasized that this proves the short-term villa rental market is not just an alternative accommodation model that emerged due to the pandemic, but rather a mainstream accommodation model. Mat expressed confidence that Re-Pie and APY Ventures—under the umbrella of Albaraka Türk—will significantly contribute to TatildeKirala.com’s future goals, especially with their experience in the real estate sector. He also noted that starting from 2023, the company will make significant changes to its business model and, in line with this new model, they will have the opportunity to utilize an additional $5 million resource alongside the investment provided by Re-Pie Portföy, signaling the beginning of an exciting new phase. Finally, he added that discussions have been completed with a new fund awaiting approval from the SPK to participate in the investment round, and that this fund will also be included once approvals are granted.
Mehmet Ali Ergin, Vice Chairman of the Board at Re-Pie Portföy, commented:
“As Re-Pie, a leading venture capital investor in Turkey, we continue to contribute to our country’s startup ecosystem through investments in areas where we see high growth potential. In this context, TatildeKirala.com has been a company closely on our radar due to its business idea and model, its internationally standardized technology, and its performance. I wish this investment to be beneficial for both parties. As Re-Pie Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş., we aim to lead the emergence of new unicorns and decacorns from our country through our future investments.”
Mustafa Keçeli, Manager at APY Ventures, stated the following regarding the investment in TatildeKirala.com:
“Investing in business models with high scalability potential is at the core of our focus. In this regard, we are very excited to take part in the investment round of TatildeKirala.com, which has captured the growth trend in the short-term villa rental sector. With this investment made through our Start-up Venture Capital Investment Fund, we have increased the number of investments in this fund to 14 and our total investments to 42. As APY Ventures, we will continue to contribute to the ecosystem in 2023 with the 5 funds we manage.”
Mehmet Fatih Trabzon, Chairman of the Board of FTR Makina Kimya Metalurji A.Ş., which made its first investment in the technology sector, stated that TatildeKirala.com’s success story and rising trend—along with its rapid steps toward becoming a global brand through its international expansion—were the most prominent factors in their decision to make their first digital investment.
