DIGIAGE Secures $500K Investment from APY Ventures
DIGIAGE, operating under Bilişim Vadisi as the Digital Game and Animation Cluster Center, has received a $500,000 investment from APY Ventures’ Bilişim Vadisi Venture Capital Fund.
With this investment, DIGIAGE plans to make early-stage investments, particularly in teams participating in its camps and programs. The organization is also expected to announce new early-stage investments in the near future.
Founded in 2019, DIGIAGE supports aspiring game developers by providing comprehensive resources including accounting, legal, financial, and entrepreneurial support, as well as physical infrastructure such as office space. To date, DIGIAGE has organized 8 game development camps.
According to DIGIAGE Director Emre Yıldız, the camps—launched in 2019 with the “Oyunla Gelecek” initiative—have attracted over 18,000 applications from 71 cities and 30 countries. A total of 3,200 participants online and 1,440 participants physically have taken part in these programs, gaining hands-on experience in game development.
Participants go through a multidisciplinary training process with 80 expert mentors and 50 trainers, covering areas such as coding, storytelling, design, and sound.
Mustafa Keçeli, Fund Manager at APY Ventures, stated that this investment will help create value for hundreds of early-stage game studios, emphasizing Türkiye’s growing success in producing globally competitive gaming companies.
Additionally, Erkam Tüzgen highlighted that the gaming industry has become a strategic sector worldwide and emphasized their mission to build Türkiye’s largest gaming ecosystem, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
